Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand.
Today has been one of those trying days, and with Spring storms on the way it doesn’t really help. The rain played its sometimes patterned game of mockery, grey clouds, clear skies, dark clouds, then sunshine. Over and over it went on back and forth until night fall, and now we sit with the anticipation of a storm.
How funny, my day was a mockery just like its weather. I struggled and it was no easy feat. I had to really push through on this busy day that had unexpectedly turned into an unknowing weather pattern. With frustration I had to begin to take charge, over what was trying to take charge over me. I had to lace up my gloves and begin to fight. Praying and talking to God, speaking life from The Word, because I knew I had to gain back my strength that the “dark and grey clouds” tried to place upon me. Although it wasn’t easy, I still was determined not to let the enemy win. Yes I’ll be honest there were a few times I wanted to fold. Out of old habits, it just seemed easier at that moment to do so, rather than to fight and push my way through.
I had to pray for strength. The strength I needed was not only strength to fight, but to stand and the strength to trust God, to believe that whatever it was I could push through, I could make it, and I could WIN! So when those dark clouds come, the goal is to remember that there is growth even in the smallest storms, and to really work hard at pushing them out with sunshine, or shall I really say SONshine.
Whatever the storm, let’s try our hardest to push through, and not let the dark clouds win…We can do this!
Romans 8:28 (NIV) And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
